You always need a work area to work in, whether you are a kid or adult, you need a place to keep items you do your work on and your own space to do your work. So that’s why I decided to talk about the necessary things you should have to make the perfect and comfortable work area.
Desk & Chair
First, you need a have a big enough desk to keep everything you need to work on and a comfy chair to sit on. I highly recommend getting adjustable standing desks that allow you to stand or sit while working. Then get an ergonomic chair which is basically a casual office chair. I have an L-shaped desk with an office chair because I need a lot of space to keep my work. Then, I have an office chair with a headrest to keep my body comfy and relaxed when working without being stressed and developing neck pains. I also recommend you get an office chair with a headrest to make it easier for your head.
Efficient, Working Device
Second, this is quite obvious but have some sort of device to do your work. I personally have many devices, I have my own laptop, iPad, and iPhone. If you prefer a strong, efficient working laptop, I recommend getting either an HP, Dell, or Lenovo laptop. If you would like a cheap and efficient laptop, try getting a Chromebook. If you prefer an iPad for your work device, I recommend getting the iPad Pro as it has a big screen with so many cool features that make it easier to use than a laptop. If you prefer a not-so-expensive iPad, get either the regular iPad or iPad air as they also work efficiently as the iPad Pro. If you prefer other different tablets, I recommend getting tablets from Samsung because they are as cool as the iPad. I recommend getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 as it is pretty similar to the iPad Pro. For cheaper ones, get the older versions of the Galaxy Tab like S6 or S5. Finally, if you want to go big, I recommend getting a desktop. The ones I recommend getting are HP desktops or the iMac. Honestly, the best one is the iMac, it has a huge screen and it works super-efficiently than most desktops.
Additional Upgrades For Your Device
Third, after getting your own device, I highly recommend buying additional features to make your work device a lot better. If you have a laptop, I recommend getting a mouse because using the mousepad on your laptop is annoying and sticky, and getting a separate mouse makes your life a lot easier. For any tablet, I recommend getting the keyboard accessory from the brand your purchasing to type faster on the tablet and a tablet pencil from that brand to write or draw what you need on a tablet such as notes and more. If you have a desktop, I’m pretty sure the keyboard and the mouse come with the whole purchase, but if it doesn’t I recommend getting a Logitech keyboard mouse setup or if you’re fancy an Apple keyboard mouse setup.
Set Of Earphones Or Headphones
Fourth, another accessory I recommend having with your device is either earphones or headphones, when you need to listen to a video or attend a meeting online and you don’t want to make a loud noise in your room, your ear or headphones are always there when you need it. It doesn’t matter what brand it is, just get some $20 to $30 earphones as you might not use them often.
Daily Planner
Fifth, have a physical daily planner such as a whiteboard or a digital daily planner such as google calendar and much more online platforms. Planning every day on whatever planner you choose can help map your whole day and give you some expectations on what to finish that day. It doesn’t have to be detailed, just take a couple of minutes and jot down some activities that will be the majority of your day. To make your life even more organized, I recommend having sticky notes or index cards to note down certain things you need to remember because you can’t always remember everything you need.
Tools
Sixth, you need to have these tools if you are a student: Of course a pencil, pen, eraser, colored pencils, highlighter, tape, or glue, and if you can’t afford a tablet pencil from that brand, a stylus for your device. These utensils are just regular necessities for school, you won’t use them all the time but at some point, they’ll come in handy.
Paper
Seventh, you will always need paper. Paper is one of the best inventions, you can use it to print stuff, draw, do the math, write, cut out for the construction of some sort, books, etc. As you can see, paper is very helpful and for most of your life, you’ll use paper in some way.
Shelf
Eighth, you’ll need a shelf. I have a big shelf because I have lots of work, so I have a shelf to store my work or books I have finished. You’ll need a shelf at some point because I bet you’ll have lots of work that you need to keep somewhere. It doesn’t matter what size the shelf, it can be big or small, just have a shelf, it will help store things that you can grab when you need to and it will help keep your setup more organized without stuff lying all around the room.
Water Supply & Snacks
Ninth, always have water nearby to drink or have a water bottle and have some small snacks such as nuts to be hydrated and energized. Because from my experience, I can tell you that staying hydrated and energized is a key part of being successful in school, tests, and work.
Recycle Bin
Tenth, have a trashcan nearby because you’ll need to use it to throw away junk paper, pencils, erasers, food wrappers, whatever it may be, it will be handy to have a recycle bin nearby for whatever trash you need to throw.
Strong Internet Connection
Eleventh, make sure you have a strong internet connection as it is crucial to working efficiently on your devices. Otherwise, you’ll just lag and have a frustrating time completing your work.
Decoratives
Lastly, make sure your work looks nice and neat by adding some flowers, paintings, and objects that look peaceful to make your place look comfortable. I have like a stress ball and two paintings, you can make yours look decorative in your own way.
Summary
To summarize, the perfect work area needs to have a desk, chair, device, device upgrades, earphones/headphones, daily planner, tools, paper, a shelf, water, a recycle bin, strong internet connection, and decorative items.
